Reflections regarding the trip(Part A)

My group felt appalled when we saw the clutters of litter partially blocking the drainage.Even more amazing was that we managed to spot few fishes swimming in the murky lake water. They were literally "thriving" and  adapting to their new challenging environment. My group thought that the environment could be improved on as it is quite polluted. In order for us to enjoy fresh and clean air in the park, actions need to be taken quickly so as not to upset the balance of the ecosystem. We need to preserve the environment by promoting awareness of the environmental crisis we face.I personally felt a pang of disgust as I recalled one teenager in a crowded area casually discarding his rubbish on the floor, without any sense of responsibility and remorse. The Jurong Town Council needs to take immediate action and we,Singaporeans, have to play a part by throwing rubbish into dustbins and picking up litter whenever we encounter some.Although it may not be a lot, it is still considered as a contribution and with each growing support, imagine what we could achieve. The lake water should have stronger filters though, to further process and purify the water to ensure that the conditions of the water are desirable. The Jurong Town Council also needs to employ more cleaners to sweep away fallen leaves as well as build mini-barriers to prevent soil from contaminating the water. As part of a town council, they should focus on how to improve the welfare of the residents.
